All About Newborn Photography with Nicole Maddalone Photography

February 10, 2020 by Ilissa Filed Under: Uncategorized

Question: When’s the best time to book your baby’s newborn photo session?

Answer: As soon as you know you are pregnant…

Okay, so I admit that the first calls you’ll make after you get that positive on the pregnancy stick should be your significant other, family, bff and doctor or midwife. But,it’s always best to book your newborn photo session during the second trimester of your pregnancy.

You aren’t the only one with a due date in 6-7 months

The vast majority of my clients book their session with me within the first few months after learning they’re pregnant because they know just how challenging it is to find the best newborn photographers whom are available in a short span of time. And the truth is, those months will pass faster than you think, so booking your session right away, is one less thing you have to worry about as you close in on your due date.

By contacting the newborn photographer right away, you’re almost guaranteed to get your session on the books. For me, I only take on two mom’s due in the same 7-10 day range making it about 6 newborn sessions a month. I do this because I want to be able to give my full attention and the very best of me to my clients.

So, how do you choose a newborn photographer, anyway?

Look for a newborn photographer who:

● Has a gallery you can envision yourself within

● Is trained in newborn safety and makes it a priorityIs fully insured; this includes liability insurance. This is for your protection as well as theirs.

● Is experienced and knowledgeable in this genre of photography. It is true that anyone can take a photo, but it takes a lot of skill to pose a newborn correctly and safely and create beautiful art for you

Please do not ever put the well-being of your baby at risk by hiring someone who is inexperienced.

Another reason to book early: You have time to build a comfortable rapport with the photographer

One of the best ways to create beautiful, natural images of you and your newborn is to have a comfortable, positive, personable relationship with the photographer you choose. Scheduling your photo sessions in advance gives us time to get to know one another, discuss the color scheme of your nursery and home, your favorite props and the images from my portfolio that speak to you.

I want you to have the best newborn session possible!
